Abstract
The following essay addresses the body as an expression of sensitivity and as a sign of freedom and responsibility. Drawing from the works of Merleau-Ponty (1993), Ricoeur (1993, 1996), and Wojtyla (2011), I demonstrate how sensitivity constitutes an opening to the act of understanding, illuminated by action, which serves as a visible exteriorization of the individual's self-determination, where, in acting, the person realizes themselves, unfolds from their immediate responsibility, and transcends. The mediation of language (Gadamer, 1998) is crucial to understanding lived experience (Ricoeur, 2006), whose narrative is not ethically neutral. The metaphorical sense of language (Ricoeur, 2001) influences the way a person thinks, feels, acts, and exists. The methodological characteristics of the study are situated within Gadamer's (1998) hermeneutics. It is hoped that these reflections will serve as a theoretical reference for studies related to the corporeal, language, and ethical action
