Abstract

A descriptive cross-field research was conducted to diagnose the ICT professors’ skills at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University Lisandro Alvarado. The study population consisted of 535 professors, so a probabilistic stratified sampling was carried out to select 246 subjects. Final results showed that the ICT variable was considered positive; due to 70% have skills in computer hardware, Windows operating system, office automation and e-mail program. However, in respect to the Moodle platform, only 10% of teachers resulted competent. Professors, also expressed they needed strengthening the Internet tools and office programs, 69.2% acquired the skills through trial and error, 26.4% through training courses, 2.1% through a friend and 2,3% by other means.
