Abstract
This article corresponds to a qualitative research report, focused on the process of research accompaniment, which corresponds to the actions, in orientation, mediation and research training, as well as psychosocial support, led by a tutor, who attends to the characteristics and academic and personal needs of each tutor within a defined institutional framework. The intention of the research was to unveil the performance of academic tutors during this process from their own experience at the undergraduate level. An introspective-experiential approach was used; In this sense, the design was framed in ethnomethodology while the strategy for gathering information was participant observation. The findings show that the accompaniment sessions are carried out in three phases: preamble, approach to the object of study and closure, carried out based on the tutor’s production of content.
