Abstract

Through the following quasi experimental research, the effetc of the teaching techniques, Workshop, Concept Map and Problem Solving focused on processes of thought on students' achievement was determined. A pre-test was applied to 114 students from 4th year at "Rafael Villavicencio" Highschool. After receiving some training using the techniques, a post-test was applied to verify whether the training and strategy had been effective or not. The following conclusions were dawn out of the results: any of the three strategies mentioned above will help students achieve their academic goals and develop cognitive processes that will make them improve their academic performance.
