Abstract

The article reports the results of a qualitative study aimed to demonstrate the leading role of research in achieving a learning organization. The research was based on the ethnographic method. Techniques of participant observation, open questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interview were used to collect the data. To systematize the information on, qualitative data Atlas / TI was used, obtained through in-depth interviews, as part of CAQDAS programs (software for qualitative data analysis computer assisted). Among the dimensions unveiled highlights the research culture, ethics, research and management, freedom of initiative, promote creativity, team learning, professionalization of the trade, the little stimulus to generate ideas and work, and the lack of clear guidelines and policies on research matters. We conclude that there are good and important research projects that have the support of national and international agencies in the UNET, but require that the entire university family research is done and achieve shared learning. So the university will provide a better way to the region, country and world society.
