Abstract
This essay is a debate on the current Venezuelan social and educational situation, which path to a new paradigm has been surrounded by complex conditions along history. This documentary revision has allowed us not only to deepen on the study of pedagogy and education in postmodernity, but also to support it under José Pascual Mora’s perspective, whose ideas are translated as an open invitation to ponder, critique, and analyze the topic. Such reflections led us to identify two basic needs: first, training teachers to develop a proactive attitude toward change since their quality as teachers will not be proved on their ability to solve problems, but to foresee them; second, training teachers to make decisions during chaos and uncertainty.
