Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the cooperative learning approach from the vygotskyan theory. It is a documentary research, supported on previous from different sources. Results show that cooperative learning is intrinsically related to the vygotskyan theory, since they are both focused on group mediation, interdependency, social interaction and multidirectional action. Two conclusions are drawn. Cooperative learning is an approach that considers the building of knowledge through peer work important, since it generates high quality relationships and the required skills to perform a task successfully. The postulates of the socio-cultural theory, related to high processes and the zone of proximal development, explain how information is acquired through social interaction based on cooperative learning.
