Abstract

This field research has descriptive, explanatory and prospective characteristics; Besides, it was of quantitative nature based on the positivist paradigm. Its purpose was to know the agro - academic reality of the Unit of Agricultural Production of the UPEL - IPB to anticipate the future and to specify the actions in the consolidation of a true center of education, considering in addition the endogenous development and the university social responsibility. The population and sample included the directors of the IPLBPF, the coordinator and workers of the Unit; Coordinator, teachers and students of the Agricultural Education program and the inhabitants of the communities adjacent to this center. In the collection, analysis, validation and presentation of results, the prospective method was used. Apart from knowing the reality of the center and generating a model, the conclusions suggest applying it, defining the vision and mission of the Unit, incorporating the communities to the university, offering optimal education and managing economic resources at all levels.
