Abstract
The purpose of this descriptive, quantitative field research was to study the impact produced by the Instrumental English course didactic programs on the participants attending the Master Program at UPEL-IPB. Two types of samples were chosen: an 8 current master program professors sample and a 39-participants sample, selected through stratified sampling. A Lickert Scale and a yes/no and open-questions questionnaire was designed and applied to the sample, in order to measure the impact of the programs. The collected data was analyzed by means of "t-student" and caracterization of answers techniques, as well as absolute and percentage frequencies were calculated. The results showed the need to include a variety of reading strategies to the Instrumental English course (different from translation). Consequently, these results allowed to suggest the design of a unique experimental program for the different Master Programs Specialties.
