Abstract

The evaluation as a human act is one of the more complex processes in the teaching practice. The change towards different learning contexts demands from the teacher different ways of acting. However, teachers’ believes, values and conceptions are the most important referents for decision making during the evaluation process. Currently, community service is providing a scenery in which new trends of the pedagogical act are highlighting; these trends are differentiated by the goals, characteristics and principles of on service-learning. The present documental study exposes the reflections of teachers from the Pedagogical Institute Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa, Barquisimeto -Venezuela who are building an approach to a proposal for the evaluation of service-learning. Then, a conception of the evaluation that integrates several positions emerged, for that reason the authors refer to this conception as an authentic one.
