Abstract
This article shows the results of a qualitative research oriented to establish an effective communicational process by using a Local Area Net (LAN) for the management of the National Program of IT Formation at the IUTET. The methodological design was based on fundamental theory presented by Strauss and Corbin (2002). In this sense, two phases were developed: a) data collection, participant observation and interview as data collection was applied, b) data microanalysis, Atlas.ti was used to codify and analyze data. Findings suggested the following categories: a) LAN definition, b) devise for LAN installation, c) LAN advantages, d) circumstances for LAN installation, e) the IUTET requires a LAN, f) LAN’s benefits for PNFI management. As a final reflection, it is inferred LAN installation is not an adequate condition to establish an effective process of communication, but it is an inevitable condition if a management process of communication is implemented.
