Abstract

An educational experience was carried out based on the theoretical model of the semantic fields (Lins,1999), whose objective was to apply and to evaluate a methodology that would allow to develop, in the students that initiate studies of mathematics in the Faculty of Sciences, Universidad de Los Andes, its perception of the logical structure of diverse enunciations, in order to contribute to the development of mathematical reasoning skills, from a cognitive platform that does not depend on previous mathematical knowledge, but Of the average level of development of communicative competencies of a graduate of the middle level of education. The methodology focused on the creation of shared communicative spaces, allowing a participatory discussion of various Spanish- language statements, their meaning and their logical structure. At the conclusion, the participants showed that they had developed the ability to recognize logical structures in propositions written in Spanish to use them in verbal logical reasoning, as well as in the mathematician.
