REVISTA EDUCARE, as a scientific outreach body, published by the Research and Postgraduate Branch of the Pedagogical Institute "Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa" of Barquisimeto, has maintained since its creation in 1997 its commitment in 1997 with the scientific academic community, as a means of excellence was established for the dissemination of innovative pedagogical theories and practices, tested within or outside the institution, that contributes to the improvement of educational quality. This is in order to publicize the results of investigative productions generated in the different departments and research units of UPEL and other national and international academic institutions, and in this way to stimulate research production of UPEL and other universities at different levels of education.

From its inception the magazine assumed a printed format with an annual edition. Later in 2000, and by virtue of the demand of artists, the magazine is set up in an annual volume, with two semi-annual issues, with possible extraordinary numbers. And since 2008, it has been extended to three quarterly quarterly.

The production and dissemination of the Revista EDUCARE has made dizzying progress in achieving the quality criteria that distinguish scientific journals. This informative body is considered by our regular readers and by researchers of recognized trajectory as one of the most prestigious instruments of our university in the field of dissemination of intellectual production. Such recognition is due both to the periodicity maintained for ten years, and to the accreditation of it in national and international databases and indices such as CLASS, LATINDEX, and REVENCYT, which are added to the recent incorporation into the HENET and HELA data from the University of La Rioja and the Autonomous University of Mexico, respectively. Likewise, the visibility of the magazine has been consolidated by increasing the redemption process with more than eighty (80) institutions at national and international level

From 2020 the journal assumes a new stage with the adaptation of criteria and guidelines for its indexation 2.0. Also the journal is located in a new domain: investigacion-upelipb.com.
