Abstract
Skinner's behavioral approach represents with no doubt a controversial topic in the educational field. This essay is based on his ideas and principIes centred on the experimental method. This study then becomes a significant contribution for teachers, psychologists, educational psychologists and student teachers, since it projects a conception oflearning that makes an impact on education. The importance of reinforcing programs and the behavioual modelIing through successive approximations is paramount to explain the foundations of the so valued Prograrnmed Instruction in the pedagogy. This essay begins with an introduction that contextualizes the approach. It is folIowed by a teaching implication and finishes with the importance of social connotation oflearning.
