3. Wikis as teaching tool at U.T.A

Abstract

This paper reports a teaching experience in the Accountancy and Audit Faculty at Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Ecuador. This experience consisted in a practical application demonstration of Web 2.0 and the tool Wikispaces since 2007. Nowadays, 73% of teachers from the faculty use wikis as a teaching tool in different courses. Wikis are also used in undergraduate and graduate b-learning programs such as ICTs, research projects, e-business, even graduate theses tutoring sessions to mention just a few.
